A month with two bank holidays definitely needs more music.
Here are two cheerful pieces for the season; both by Felix Burns. As with most of Mr. Burns' pieces, these are aimed at the many, not the few - players of intermediate ability who want interesting pieces that don't take months to learn.
May Queen country dance is a little different from the simple format of the Felix Burns Dance Albums. This piece was published as a piano solo around 1890 and would be equally as suitable as a parlour piece or for dancing.
It uses the keys of G and C major. It starts with a four-bar introduction, which gives way to a light, gavotte-style rhythm.
May Queen Country Dance is available as a download for piano and as leadsheet/accordion.

Flowers in May was published under the pseudonym of Claude Rosalind around 1905, as well as appearing in the periodical Musical Home Journal, a publication aimed at encouraging musical participation at home.
This piece is probably the simpler of the two, using the keys of C and F major.
Flowers in May is available as a download for piano and as leadsheet/accordion.
