Richmond Hill/Lilliberlero - arranged by Felix Burns
Felix Burns often included popular folk tunes in his dance albums. He included this piece in The Tower of London Dance Album, published in 1921, where it has the title of "Richmond Hill". It is also known as Lilliberlero - which originated as an anti-Roman Catholic song. Mr Burns was Roman Catholic himself but was undoubtedly familiar with John Gay's alternative use of the tune in "The Beggar's Opera" - which is the title of one of the other pieces in the same dance album.
